Bay Builds | As Styled By @kyalandkara

Miss Amara rugs are frequently specified by interior designers for their balance of considered design, materiality and versatility across residential projects. Designed in-house, our collections span a wide range of fibres, weaves, sizes and finishes, allowing stylists to work confidently across varied architectural and aesthetic briefs.

Kyal and Kara began their property renovation journey over 10 years ago, and since then have completed countless projects across Australia. Their most recent project, Bay Builds, consists of two beautifully considered properties located on the sunny Central Coast in NSW. While the homes share the same footprint, each has been styled with a distinct design direction, offering a compelling study in how material choices and styling decisions can shape atmosphere.

Below, we explore how rugs were used throughout both homes to support contrast, cohesion and spatial intent.

Living Room

Living rooms are often considered the heart of the home for several reasons. They’re often the main social home and primary living space for family and friends. They are also versatile spaces where a range of activities can happen.

A truly unique classic and beautiful design, Olive rug is a classic vintage style transitional rug featuring a warm and earthy base and a traditional medallion pattern. Designed as part of the exclusive Miss Amara Collection, Olive rug has been finished with a distressed abrash effect to mimic the overdyed look of authentic antique vintage rugs and features a low, flatweave profile perfect for a cool underfoot feel in warmer months.
