Start by removing all packaging and unrolling or unboxing your rug. Make sure the floor underneath is clean and dry, then roughly map out where the rug will sit. If you’re using an underlay, place it down first, slightly smaller than the rug’s edges.
Once everything is positioned, gently roll or unfold the rug into place. If it’s going under furniture, we recommend moving pieces carefully or asking for a hand.
If you notice any creases or curled edges, placing a few books or heavier items on those areas usually does the trick. Within about 48 hours, your rug should relax and lie flat naturally.

Only rugs in our machine washable range are designed to go into a washing machine, and the size you choose will determine the washer capacity required.
As a general guide:
• Smaller rugs (e.g. 180 x 120cm): Fit in most 6–8kg front loaders.
• Medium sizes (e.g. 230 x 160cm to 330 x 240cm): Generally require 12–14kg+ machines.
• Largest size (400 x 300cm): Needs a 24kg+ capacity washer – this may mean a commercial machine or laundromat.
To be safe, check the model number of your washing machine and look up its load capacity online.
The good news is that washable rugs don’t need frequent full washes. They’re designed to be spot cleaned for everyday messes, with machine washing reserved for deeper cleans when needed.

Some natural fibre rugs, like wool, may shed a little at first. This is a completely normal process while your rug settles into its new home. Shedding tends to ease over a few months with regular vacuuming (just be sure to avoid high suction or rotating brushes).

For homes with heated flooring, we recommend choosing rugs that don’t have any gel, or adhesive backings, as these can react to heat and potentially damage your floors over time, especially if there’s any moisture present.
Instead, opt for rugs made with natural fibres like wool or cotton, or those with a cotton backing. These are breathable, heat-safe, and won’t interfere with your floor’s heating system. All our non-TumbLuxe rugs without backing treatments are a great match.

Yes. We offer free shipping on all rugs, Australia-wide.
Once your order leaves our warehouse, we’ll email you tracking details so you can follow its journey.
If your item is in stock, we aim to pick and dispatch orders within 1–3 business days.
Delivery timeframes then depend on your location and the courier handling your delivery. You can check how quickly an item will leave the warehouse on the product page and in your order confirmation email.

Delivery to your apartment door depends on building access.
If there’s a secure or locked entrance, the courier will usually ring the intercom. If you’re unavailable and there’s no safe place to leave the parcel, they’ll contact you to reschedule.

All Miss Amara items are delivered by our courier partners to your nominated street address.
For safety and handling reasons, couriers aren’t permitted to enter private residences or carry heavy rugs up more than three flights of stairs. In apartment buildings, this means delivery may not always be possible directly to your front door, and you may be asked to meet the driver at the building entrance.
Where delivery to the front door isn’t possible, the courier will do their best to leave your order in the most convenient and safe location available.
Unfortunately, we cannot deliver to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers / Parcel Collect. If you’re unsure which delivery address to use, you can reach out to our team via Live Chat, and we’ll be happy to help.
Returns
We offer Free Returns on rugs, so you can feel confident bringing one home.
If it’s not quite right, you can return your rug within 30 days, as long as it’s unused and in its original condition. We cover return shipping on up to two rugs per customer every 30 days, and you’ll receive a full refund to your original payment method.
Some items are excluded, including used rugs, underlays, and opened playmats.

Starting a return is simple. Just head to our Returns Portal and follow the steps using your order number and the email used at checkout.
If you’re returning more than one rug, you’ll just need to submit a separate request for each.
Yes, return shipping is included as part of our Free Returns service.
Once your return is booked, our carrier will usually collect your rug within 1–4 business days, and we’ll keep you informed along the way. If there’s ever a delay or something doesn’t go to plan, our Customer Care team is always here to help reschedule the collection.
Please note: a $40 fee applies if two collections are missed.
It depends on how your rug was packaged.
If your rug arrived in a square box, you can return it via Australia Post. This is usually the case with most of our washable rug range.
For all other rugs, which are larger, longer and not boxed, returns are handled by our specialist carriers who manage oversized deliveries. In those cases, we’ll organise a courier collection from your home, so there’s no need to arrange transport it yourself.

Once your return has been collected, we’ll process your refund within 48 hours.
From there, it typically takes 5–10 business days for the funds to appear in your account, depending on your bank.
Because playmats are designed for little ones, we’re only able to accept returns if they’re unopened and in their original packaging, in line with hygiene and safety standards.

Cleaning & Care
No. Not all rugs in our collection are machine washable. Only our specially designed machine washable range has been designed to be compatible with washing machines. These styles are lightweight, durable, and perfect for busy homes with kids, pets, or everyday spills.
You’ll find a “Washable” tag on each product page to make it easy to spot. For all other rugs, we recommend spot cleaning and following the care instructions specific to the rug’s material.

Some texture changes may happen, especially with Faux Fur or Shag styles when in high-use.
An occasional brush or fluffing will bring it back to life. To fluff up your Shag Rug make sure to gently shake it out and brush with a wide-tooth comb or pet slicker brush to restore softness and fluff.
Both our Karma and Cloud underlays are spot clean only so can be cleaned where necessary. We suggest using a warm water and mild detergent solution to remove any marks or spillages.
