Our collection of round floor rugs includes both natural, organic materials as well as popular non-shed fibres in a range of traditional inspired designs and effects like our Moroccan rug range and our Boho rug range. Our most sought after look is the vintage, distressed design achieved through a colour treatment known as ‘abrash’. This treatment creates a unique variation in the colours across the rug mimicking the variations found in hand-spun wool rugs that have been coloured with traditional vegetable dyes. Using vegetable dyes was accepted practice prior to the creation of synthetic dyes and the signature vintage washed-out look has become a prized characteristic for lovers of modern floor rugs.
Where to use round rugs?
Round rugs, unlike space specific pieces like hallway runner rugs, can be placed anywhere in the home to but to maximise their design and décor affect, they’re offer placed under furniture like a dressing table or dining table, in the centre of a space to lift a room and warm it, under accent pieces, or used as hallway rugs and entrance rugs placed in entrance halls and foyers. A round rug under a round dining table generates a symmetrical balance between the pieces and can help to liven a narrow dining room or, as an area rug, clearly mark out your dining area in more open plan living spaces. A round rug under a rectangular dining table can signal a deliberate and bolder design choice. The asymmetry of the two pieces will need to be balanced overall but this can be an effective and eye-catching way of showcasing particular furnishings or closing down very large living spaces in loft-style home or urban warehouses. This can also work effectively in board rooms and meeting rooms for contemporary office spaces.
Small round rugs can be a great way to warm your floor space in the bathroom, kitchen and for beside your bed. Placing your bare feet on a shag rug first thing in the morning is a very cosy and gentle way of greeting the day. They can also help to bring a soft and cosy feel to small spaces like reading nooks, and outdoor rugs can brighten up covered patios and entertaining areas, giving them a sense of the comfort of indoors. A circle has no edges and this softening effect can be very powerful inside the home. Jute rugs are a popular choice for those that want to layer rugs in their home, as the natural beige colouring adds a great deal of texture to a space.
To ensure that you are choosing the best selection of round rugs for your home or office, we offer a complimentary and entirely obligation-free décor consultation. Our designers have experience in interior design and are uniquely placed to offer contemporary styling advice for any space. Let the experts help you choose the best piece for your space.
Our professional advice is tailored specifically to your space and we’ll take you through why we’ve chosen a particular piece like a white rug over black, or a Berber rug over a shag rug, and why we believe it works best in your space.
Within our selection of round rugs, you’ll find a modern and versatile collection of designs beginning with our Taraz grey rug available in sizes up to a comfortably large 240 cm x 240 cm. This traditionally inspired design has been treated with the abrash technique to generate a pleasant gradient of colours over the floral motif and to seamless merge contemporary chic with ancient aesthetic. In a cool, silvery grey, this rug won’t overpower a room and is ideally suited to be paired with both subdued, modern furnishings or more eclectic and bolder pieces. Deep, resonant colours like navy blue and red or burgundy work best with grey for classical styling tastes but you can afford to be really bold with a gentle floor rug like this one and choose to place it beneath an electric lime green or eclectic orange statement piece.
The Nile grey diamond distressed round rugs have been designed along a similar vein but incorporate a repetitive tribal pattern rather than the floral design as seen in the Taraz. In cream ivory, this piece also offers a plush underfoot pile measuring 10 mm thick, is made from non-shed polypropylene fibres, and can similarly be teamed with sleek Danish design inspired furnishings of beech and walnut, or loud and brash statement pieces like accent chairs. Black and white will often sit very well in a space together so if you have, or are also looking for, black furnishings like a leather couch, the Nile will contrast brilliantly in the lounge room.
As anyone with a sea view will attest, the colour blue has a mild and calming effect on everyone. With this in mind, our selection of round rugs also includes stand-outs like the Hadera. In a soothing and soft blue, the Hadera traditional rug features the vintage inspired distressed look which subdues the vibrancy of the blue dye and allows it to flow gently into any space. This piece looks at home both in laid-back coastal retreats and chic urban spaces.
Installing green rugs can be another earthy and calming way of introducing nature’s spectrum inside your home or office. Apartment living and urban office blocks can often make people feel disconnected with the natural world so choosing grounding colours like natural fibres, blue, greens and yellow can not only lift a room but also your general mood while you’re inside a space. Comfort is about more than just the tactile experience of natural fibres like wool and cotton, it has as much to do with how a space looks as how it feels.
Our collection of round rugs also includes a range constructed from more traditional hand woven organic fibres like eco-friendly and sustainable jute. Our jute is sourced from ethical producers and as a strong, durable and sustainable material, our jute carpet collection ticks all the boxes for a climate conscious home. Choose from natural hues in soft tan or from our range of both bold and soft dyed centres. The blush pink jute, for example, could be ideally suited for a nursery or child’s bedroom, offering an easy to keep clean play area on a dedicated kids rug. Jute rugs can also be used outside so long as the area is covered and weatherproof. Water and mould will affect the strength of the jute fibres so ensure your outdoor space is free from both and you’ll enjoy a long relationship with your outdoor rug.
Our entire collection of rugs, including our round rugs, are available for order online and free shipping is Australia-wide which includes more than just the standard metro areas of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We ship anywhere in Australia.
Our mission is to bring our customers the very best shopping experience with door to door free shipping, risk-free buying which allows you to return your rug if you decide it’s not for you, and expert styling advice from professionals who want you to love your rug choice.
