How to size a round rug
Round rugs are measured by their diameter, the widest point across the circle. A few simple rules make the choice easy:
- For a dining table, choose a diameter roughly 120 cm larger than the table (about 60 cm each side), so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out.
- In the living room, size for the coffee table, or so the front legs of your seating rest on the rug.
- For bedsides and nooks, a smaller diameter sits neatly without crowding.
- Mark the circle out on the floor with tape before you buy, so you can see the fit.
